a)       Who is responsible for managing the ministry?

The Management Team which consists of the Ministry Leaders for the three ministries operating under CCZT namely Pastor Training, Farm Teaching, Community Schools Support (Christian Education Ministry). The Ministry Leaders are;

Rev Heinrich Zwenstra, College Principal.

Philip Bailey - Farm Ministry Leader.

Marjanne Hendriksen – CEM Ministry Leader.

b)       What oversight of the ministry is there by people other than the management?

The Covenant College Zambia Trust Board (CCZT) which consists of five Zambian and five International Trustees.

c)        What are the aims of the ministry?

To teach and train local pastors, farmers and community school teachers.

d)    What is the doctrinal basis of the ministry?  If none, what assurance can be given that the ministry is run on Christian principles by people with Christian beliefs?

The Reformed Christian faith namely, the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Three Forms of Unity, the 1689 Baptist Confession and the Thirty-Nine Articles.

 

e)       What are the accounting systems for the ministry?

Each Ministry does its own book keeping which at the end of CCZT’s financial year are incorporated by the appointed auditor into the combined CCZT’s Annual Accounts. These are submitted to the Zambian Registration of Societies.

f)        ZMS Involvement

ZMS holds funds for each of these three ministries and monies received are allocated to the respective ministry according to donor’s wishes. These funds are then distributed directly to the three ministries by Philip Bailey, Farm Ministry Leader for CCZT and ZMS Trustee.

CCZT is a charity organization in Zambia registered as such with the Registration of Societies No. ORS/102/20/197. All the funds sent overseas from ZMS to CCZT are used within this organization and therefore all these payments are used for charitable purposes.

g)       Future Developments/Aims

The future developments and aims of CCZT are to expand the work of training pastors, farmers and community school teachers throughout the Eastern Province of Zambia.

h)       Public Benefit Requirement

The aims and work of CCZT meet the ‘Public Benefit Requirement’ as required by ZMS as a Charity in England and Wales. The benefits, through the various teaching activities of CCZT are to the general public restricted only to the sections of the community according to the relevant teaching given. The benefits are in advancing basic education, Christian education, farming techniques and relieving poverty. The benefits are not restricted unreasonably by geographical location or the ability to pay fees and those in poverty are not excluded from the opportunity to benefit
